Sorry for late reply, yes thermal pads are 1.5mm thick and in may sample the thermal paste was little overdone as you can see here.

        Thanks a lot.
Do you think a 2mm thermal pads can be used in place?
I bought the “Grizzly pad minus 8” 2mm to replace them.

        • teckknow

Yes, you can use thicker pads. The problem occurs when you use a slimmer pad than needed. But why you want to replace them?

I live on an island where summer is hot enough. I know Zotac uses standard pads and thermal paste. So I would like to improve the heat exchange with the paste and thermal pads of the brand Thermal Grizzly (12.5 W/mk for the paste Kryonaut and 8 W/mk for Minus 8 pads) and lose 3 or 4 degrees on the graphics card. I know it’s not much, but it can help.
            Sorry for my poor english.
