The Windows 10 store version of COD: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered will not work with the Steam version

Activision has confirmed that the Windows 10 store version of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered will not work with the Steam version, meaning those who have Windows store version of the game can’t play multiplayer with players who are using the Steam version of the game. This is a very strange design choice for a game series which is primarily played for the Multiplayer.

Can I play Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered for Windows 10 on Windows Store with my friends that are playing on another PC platform?

No, you can only play these titles with other users of Windows 10 on Windows Store.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare Remastered

This design choice will split the game’s multiplayer communities on PC and potentially kill the game’s online community before it has a chance to develop. The Windows 10 store’s lack of widespread adoption by gamers, effectively those who buy the game in Windows 10 store will have difficulty finding online matches.

As of now, it is unknown why the multiplayer communities for both versions of the game are split on PC, or if Activision has any future plans to unify both versions of the game.
