Valve is preparing to the big launch of its Steam Machines, Steam Controllers and many Steam Link streaming device. The company’s Steam Machines official launch date of November 10. Pre-orders are still available online, but Valve also wants to attract more customers by partnering with three store with announcing it has partnered up with GameStop, EB Games and Game UK who will all serve as “exclusive non-digital retailer[s]”. They will be selling Valve’s upcoming Steam Machines, Steam Controller and Steam Link streaming device. In the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom there will be dedicated “Steam Sections” where gamers can get their hands on PC gaming hardware, like the Steam Controller and Steam Machines, as well as some pre-paid Steam cards.
Valve co-founder, Gabe Newell explains: “Creating a ‘store within a store’ across North America and the UK is a significant win for getting the first generation of Steam Hardware products into gamers’ hands”.
The pricing of Steam Machines, Steam Controllers and many Steam Link streaming are set, the Steam Controller will cost $49.99, and the Steam Link also $49.99 (this allows streaming of your games from your PC to a TV). The Steam Machines itself are starting at $449.99 and more as the specification go up.
