Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 not that successful mainly because of its high temp and throttling down, but it looks like the Snapdragon 820 could be the processor company need. Qualcomm says upcoming chip will have new GPU and a new image signal processing (ISP) unit.
The Snapdragon 820 come with Adreno 530 GPU with 40% more performance and also using 40% less power compared to current Adreno 430 GPU. Adreno 500 series GPUs will support OpenGL ES 3.1 + AEP (Android Extension Pack). The new GPU will allow users to streaming 4K video at 60FPS through HDMI 2.0.
The new Spectra ISP is capable of supporting up to three cameras simultaneously and gives you best-in-class image quality. The new ISP promises more natural skin tones with a wider range of colors and support up to 25-megapixels at 30FPS which means no shutter lag.
We hope Qualcomm fix all issue from previous gen and Snapdragon 820 bring more performance with better battery life. According to Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 devices will come in the first half of 2016. In Mobile World Congress 2016 we will see first 820 powered devices.
