Microsoft wants to turn Windows 10 phones into portable PCs. Microsoft’s Continuum, which was showcased a live demo at their New York event, revealing just how revolutionary and simple the feature actually is.
With Microsoft’s new flagship Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL duo. They try give element of PC traditional desktop environment to a freer, unified ecosystem powered by Microsoft’s Continuum.
But how does Microsoft’s Continuum work? With the Lumia 950’s octacore processor to simulate a PC-like experience with external monitor operation. Just plug a Lumia phone in to Microsoft’s Continuum and plug a keyboard, mouse with monitor to the Display Dock hub to simulate a fully-fledged PC-like work environment.
You can still use phone even while it’s projecting onto an external monitor, important features like “answer phone calls and send text messages without interrupting what’s on the big screen”. Continuum support a ton’s of apps and software, including Office apps like Word and Excel as well as third-party universal Windows 10 apps. The Windows 10 universal apps will also scale to the monitor in real time, so no weird text or images.
Microsoft boss Satya Nadella even say that “Lumia 950 and 950 XL with Continuum are phones you can run your entire business on”.
