Intel’s next generation Kaby Lake architecture has been teased, but we haven’t seen any performance or overclock numbers of these new CPUs. But now latest leaked revealed some overclocking numbers of the new Core i7-7700K.
HKEPC has overclocked a Core i7-7700K on an ASRock Z170M OC Formula motherboard with GALAX HOF DDR4 RAM. Where they achieved 6.7GHz on LN2 cooling. As we know, the Core i7-7700K has a base clock of 4.2/4.5GHz clocks on boost.
On the other hand, Core i5-7600K was also overclocked by facebookHK, where it runs at 5.1GHz on air, on the ASUS Maximus VIII Gene. We can see the configurations for this overclock, the multiplier was increased to x40, while the bus speed was adjusted slightly to 127.51MHz, and the voltage set to 1.504v.
This increase clock speeds are the results of Intel’s latest 14nm+ process node, which drastically improves clock speeds on the same architecture.
