ASUS continued refining its STRIX cooler giving GPU a little more headroom on the boost frequency with improved power delivery, ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2070 OC manages to squeeze all the frequency from the TU106 core, our sample runs over 2000 MHz in all gaming tests. Also with two BIOS modes that give you control over acoustics. Both BIOS modes (despite that tweak) offer good temperatures. But what most impressing about it, is how silent the card runs, at the silent BIOS mode as it measures 32-33 DBa you just cannot hear it on a case.
The performance wise the RTX 2070 is not bad at all, standard gaming performance was pretty good, offering slightly better performance than GTX 1080, and can run anything up-to 2560×1440 resolution, for 4K you still better to go with 2080 or 2080 Ti. Now for ray tracing performance, it was acceptable at best, with new game update NVIDIA and DICE did improve the performance of DXR mode in Battlefield V, but it’s still not up to the mark and FPS will drop in some portion of the game even with DXR low at 1080p it doesn’t idle for multiplayer use. Although, ray tracing and AI feature like DLSS sound and looks cool, but it’s still too early to judge, only one game Battlefield V is available and we have wait and see how others implement it on their game.
Overall, ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2070 OC is almost flawless with an improved cooler, better out of the box performance, It’s hard not to recommend it, except its price, the ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2070 OC one of the most expensive 2070 out there does offer pretty much everything. Though, its cooler design feels little outdated and the RTX performance probably not something that decides your buying decision, this card for QHD gaming with everything maxed out. We are giving it our GOLD AWARD and highly recommend if you are looking for one of the best RTX 2070 available in the market.
ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2070 OC is fast, cool, quiet, and loaded with features that any enthusiasts or gamers want to have on their card
