Amazon Announced The Fire TV Gaming Edition With 4K Video Streaming

Amazon reveals its Android micro-console the Fire TV Gaming Edition with 4K video streaming. The Fire TV Gaming Edition packs, a MediaTek quad-core processor at 2GHz speeds with 2GB of RAM for “75% more processing power than previous models” and a Power VR GX6250 GPU for grpahics. 8GB of onboard memory storage is included along with an equipped 32GB Micro SD card in the expandable memory slot. It can play Android games and 4K video streaming at 30fps and 60fps in 1080p.

Amazon says that the Fire TV Gaming Edition “has more games than Apple TV, Roku, or NVIDIA Shield” and every Fire TV Gaming Edition comes with a free copy of the amazing 8-bit platformed Shovel Knight and Capcom’s DuckTales remake. For connectivity The Fire TV Gaming Edition has an Ethernet port and Wi-Fi over 802.11a/b/g/n/ac support, Bluetooth 4.1, HDMI out, DC power, Micro SD slot and USB port all in a compact 4.5in x 4.5in x 0.7in form-factor body.

As for controller Amazon’s new Gaming Edition controller has the same layout of Xbox controller and all buttons in the right places so it should feel similar. Also, there’s an optional $30 controller that comes with an onboard microphone for hands-free voice searching with Alexa-Amazon’s AI helper across the streaming interface. The Fire TV Gaming Edition comes with a price tag of $140 and $30 more for hands-free controller is available on October 5.
